An Open Letter To My Blackness

I’ve always had a strong connection with nature.

My fondest memories I have as a young Black girl was playing outside—FREE—for hours upon hours.

Black Queen… there is so much beauty and richness in being Black. To be Black is a gift.

To embrace your Blackness is to thrive.

If you are offended by my acknowledgment of the elegance of being Black, choose to receive contribution from the energy between the acknowledgment.

This reality does not acknowledge Black and brown beings. You are often made wrong for the color of your skin.

You are often excluded and judged based on the color of your skin.

I discovered a secret to being confidently Black and embracing my whole self even when others don’t.

The beauty of my Blackness comes from celebrating the entirety of who I am—my past, present, and future.

When you celebrate you, there is a magic that rises up, and no one can touch you with their judgments. You begin to out-create every one of those judgments, and everything that is here to contribute to you shows up.

Never be afraid to be confidently Black – there is power when you occupy this space.

My mother is a master gardener. We grew our own food and had chickens scurrying around. I come from a lineage of farmers; connection to the soil is coursing through my blood.

I secretly believe I chose the family I was born into for their brilliance and connection to the earth.

As a result of this, I developed an intimacy with nature.

There are no words to describe this gift from God we have been given to receive.

There are times in my life when I have escaped from this deep connection with nature. These were the times I’ve been the most “lost” in my life. When you walk away from the things that are there to uplift you, you create unnecessary struggles in your life.

I’m reclaiming all these moments and returning to all that is true for me.

When I rest in the heartbeat and thrum of nature, I can hear the wild geese, insects, birds—I hear me.

If you’ve ever desired to get close to yourself, take time to get naked in nature.

Get naked with your most vulnerable thoughts. There is healing, restoration, peace, and calm found in between the spaces of nature.

You deserve to be happy, and you deserve to thrive!

Choose everything that will facilitate you to receive this. ✨🧚🏿‍♀️
